Today, Labour Day, is a Public Holiday. And we all know how we love Public Holidays. Then the thought of work tomorrow pops in; & I’m like, who created WORK in the first place? The answer is God.
In the begnyning, No, in the beginning; Genesis says God said to Adam & Eve in their disobedience:
Genesis 3 vs19:
You will have to work hard and sweat to make the soil produce anything, until you go back to the soil from which you were formed. You were made from soil, and you will become soil again.”
Oh Lord????????♀️
And then Thee Good Lord, cause He loves us too much, goes ahead further to empower us through Solomon:
Ecclesiastes 3 vs 13:
All of us should eat and drink and enjoy what we have worked for. It is God’s gift.
He validated thee “soft life”… in other words, Enjoy Life.
Then He steps in with guidance through the Good News in the Book of Colossians 3 vs 17:
Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through him to God the Father.
It qualifies our work.
If we merge these three verses, what we get is: Work hard, enjoy the fruits of your labour, use your work (through purpose) to Glorify God.
Mmmmh. Do we? As we navigate Labour Day today, may we reflect on this sane question: WHY DO I DO WHAT I DO? ( POURQUOI JE FAIS CE QUE JE FAIS)
